Write when-to-use before you write the steps
Discovery is three lines: name, description, when to use. Steps can wait. The trigger cannot.
AuthoringWeak descriptions praise a toolkit. Good descriptions start with “Use when…” and name the nouns a person will type. Move long examples into references/ so SKILL.md stays short enough to load.
Draft the file in the generator, then run the validator. Commit only after the trigger line would make sense to a stranger.
